Introducing Luckson!!

Luckson is the second youngest of my kidlets. He's 5 years old and from Haiti. Like Robert, I am also Luckson's correspondent sponsor. He was a surprise to me. When he showed up on my account one day I was shocked that there were suddenly 4 kidlets instead of 3 there. But he was a pleasant surprise. He's absolutely adorable. His picture honestly made me go "awwwe!" He looks so sad and shy, looking up at the camera with a "won't you please sponsor me?" look. A look that says he's been passed over before, and he's used to it, and that it's ok.. so and so deserves a sponsor too. Honestly when I post his picture a little further down in this post, you'll see what I mean. A great thing about Compassion is I can log on to my "my Compassion" account and see all previous pictures of my sweet ones. Luckson's previous picture is just as cute as the his current one. He's so little and he looks like he would have a tuff guy attitude about him.
Luckson makes my heart smile through every letter. For a little lad he sure sends long letters! In his first letter he told me all about how he's learning to read and write, and that now he can write his vowels! (He dictates his letters to his mama.) Before he even received one of my letters that I've sent to him, he told me he loves me very much. *Melts* Before this little man knew anything about me except my name, he loved me. That is so amazing. This little boy,  a gajillion miles away.. loves me. Wow. Of course I think he's just perfect and love him too.. but he loved me before he knew me.
Just yesterday I received another letter from him telling me all about how he celebrates Christmas in Haiti. He said he blows up balloons and decorates his classroom and he and his classmates celebrate the birth of Jesus. How cool is that.
He made my heart grow about 10 sizes when he thanked me for the Christmas money (That his financial sponsor sent) and told me about the shoes he's going to buy with it. If you gave a kid here in Canada money, chances are they'd run out and buy the toy they've been wanting.. but he's buying shoes. I'm glad his sweet little feet are going to be protected from the elements and anything laying on the ground that could potentially hurt him.
Look at that face. Doesn't he just look too freaking cute?!? Gah! He's precious.

This is his other picture that I mentioned. Look at that attitude. heehee. Goodness. I just want to snatch him up and cuddle him till the cows come home.

Off to get ready for work! Have a blessed day folks!

Introducing: Robert!

I thought I would post once more tonight and tell you a little about my special little Compassion kidlet Robert!
Robert is not my first sponsored child, he's my third. But of my current batch of kidlets, he's the one I've sponsored the longest. Technically I'm not his sponsor. That's my "cousin" Mary. I'm just his correspondent sponsor. I've always been just his Correspondent sponsor, but when his other financial sponsor decided for whatever reason to not sponsor him any longer, I posted on facebook how I wished I could afford to take him on because he was just too precious to say goodbye to. That's when my darling "cousin" Mary offered to take him up for me so I could continue my relationship with this precious little man. He's absolutely the sweetest. I love him to bits and hope to be able to afford a trip next year to meet him.
Every letter he writes me he tells me of his love for me and it just melts my heart. He tells me about his holidays and how well he is doing in school, and he draws the sweetest pictures. Honestly, I didn't know it was possible to love a child you have never met so dang much. He's positively perfect.
Robert loves baseball, and his favourite subject in school is Natural Science!
I don't write Robert near as much as I should and I literally have so much guilt about that. But I'm working on writing more this year because (a.) my penmanship sucks! and (b.) I have to tell these kids that God and I love them more often than I have previously. So here's hoping I keep up with my goal of one letter a month plus an extra letter in response to theirs.. Wish me luck!
Now, without further adieu... Here's Robert!

How handsome is he!? LOVE that little smile he's got there. In all my time sponsoring him, that's the first smile I've seen grace his sweet face in pictures. A welcome change from his sad eyes and (albeit adorable) pouty lips in previous pictures!!
Well, that is definitely all for tonight folks! I'm off to bed (there's the little old lady in me...) Have a lovely day/night/whatever it is where you are!

First Post! Woot!

Wooo!! My very first post on my brand spanking, shiney new blog! I'm so excited to have this fresh start at blogging. I'm going to try for a post daily, but at the very least, once a week.
In this first post I'll introduce myself a bit and maybe figure out what the point of this blog is :P

Ok: First things first.. My name is Lisa Keough. I'm 23 and live in the tiniest, most boring little town EVER. And I love it here. I'm a bit of an odd lady really. I don't go out much, I knit, listen to records ALL THE TIME, I sponsor 5 precious kidlets through Compassion who I will introduce to you, perhaps in my next post.. or maybe later in this one.. who knows :P. My best friends are Laurisa: a lady my age, who I've been on and off (mostly on) friends with since grade 3.. Jaydee: my 5 y/o little cousin/nephew who is literally my entire world. He dominates my thoughts and everything I do is to make his life better... Jonathan: my pen pal - turned best friend who has put up with my weirdness since I was 14, bless him for that :P ... and Hilda: my down the road neighbour who recently became widowed (James was among this list until his passing as well). Though I'm 23 I do NOT feel as though I am my age. I (here's where I begin to get really weird..) feel like I am still 18 and am still figuring out how to work my life out and be an adult, but at the same time I feel like I should be about 40ish. I was totally born in the wrong generation, but I know God put me here for a reason, I just need to figure out that reason.
I'm also a total book nerd. I don't read as much as I used to, but I still have this wicked urge to just collect all the books I see. My ereader has GOT to be getting near capacity from all the books I download onto it. Gotta love those free ebooks eh? ;)
I just stumbled upon this wonderful thing called Journaling Bibles!! I ordered my new "journaling Bible" the other night and am waiting VERY impatiently for it to arrive. I know I'm going to have so much fun with this and can't wait to share on here my probably not so pretty "Bible journal" ^;^  Who cares if it's perfect, right? So long as it gets me to read the Word more often and brings me on a closer walk with God, that's what counts.
Ok! I'm gonna end this post for now, but maybe I'll post again later this evening :D
